Chess and holidays - Regulations of the 9. ACO World Amateur Chess Championship Rhodes 2020 (May 16th - 25th) are online. Last year there were 284 players from 28 countries. The ACO World Amateur Chess Championship 2019 takes place from 16th - 25th May 2020 on the island of Rhodes (Greece) as an open tournament. Any player with a rating below 2400 can represent his country and become ACO World Champion in his rating group! Division of groups: Group A: 2201 – 2400; Group B: 2001 – 2200; Group C: 1801 – 2000; Group D: 1601 – 1800; Group E: 1401 – 1600; Group F: 1201 – 1400; Group G: 0 (unrated) – 1200. Prizes: 5.000 EUR in total. 1st place of each rating group becomes ACO World Champion. Places 1-3 receive cash prices and trophies.

Helsingør (DEN), KRONBORG CHESS OPEN 2020
Helsingør Skakklub (Elsinore Chessclub) invites chessplayers to 7-rounds FIDE round robin in 4 days. The International Chess Tournament is open for all players. Kronborg International Chess Tournament is named after the famous castle Kronborg Castle, located in Elsinore – the home of Hamlet. There is a view to the castle directly from the game room which is located down to the beach on the Marienlyst Beach Hotel. We offer an international chess tournament in great surroundings with the possibility to stay at the playing venue. Registration for the Kronborg Chess Open 2020 is open. INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT Kronborg Chess Open is an international chess tournament with a total prize sum is over DKK 20,000 (€3.000), depending on the number of participants. Last year, the tournament had participants from Norway, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Indonesia, India and of course Denmark. We are therefore looking forward to seeing many nationalities and levels together with Danish chess players. A ROUND ROBIN OR MONRAD CHESS TOURNAMENT The tournament is divided into groups of 8 players where everyone is playing against each other. The group selection is according to Danish rating and foreign players Elo-rating number is transferred to the Danish. The report time is 90 minutes to each player for the whole game + 30 seconds per. move. Note there is no extra time added after 40 moves PLAYING VENUE (Marienlyst Beach Hotel, Ndr.
